What. A. Long. Day. Thankfully I began my day on time, again! Started hiking right at 7am (okay, technically 7:04 but who is counting, haha!) I started slowly. My body felt stiff as a board. I didn’t stretch the night before and boy did I feel it.
I wanted to take advantage of the long day to hike with Michel since he is flying out Thursday. It was again, so lovely to hike with company. Especially on such a long day.
We took a couple breaks, even if at one point he had to almost force me to take a break. Pretty much everyone in my life would agree I can be stubborn. I really wanted to make it to 24.7 km for a break, and had to almost beg Michel to allow me to do so. I was in horrible shape, slowed down a lot and he was trying to look out for me. I pleaded my case and he reluctantly agreed to go a couple more kilometers to 24.7 for a break. Yay victory! Haha! Not going to lie I wish I listened to him and stopped earlier.
Today was full of Eucalyptus trees and lush green forests. It was also COLD. But in a good way. You see, cold means less sweat which means less blisters! And it means I didn’t need to wash my clothes. 😂
I was so ready to arrive to town, and when we did I could have honestly done more kilometers. But obviously I didn’t need to so I found the albergue and laid down for a bit before dinner.
The town isn’t much to look at, just a busy industrial looking town. No Spanish charm here unfortunately. But to me, I am happy with that. I get to enjoy the forests all day, for 7.5 hours actually, so I okay resting the remainder of my day!
TOMORROW is Santiago!!! Ahhh! Can’t believe it. I’m sure I’ll post a sappy, emotional post tomorrow or the next day.
For those who don’t know I will be continuing my hike to Finisterre and Muxia. And extra 4 days of hiking, roughly averaging 30km a day. It’ll be brutal but so worth it!

Michel’s card for me today! Told me to give 5 people hugs (or him!) and then draw a picture of my Camino to either keep, destroy or put in a glass bottle to throw into the ocean. So sweet!

I can’t believe you’re so close to the end of your pilgrimage… I do hope you’ve ended up getting out of it what you were seeking. At the VERY least, I hope you’ve come to realize that you are a wonderful person, inside and out and that YOU ARE enough! I know you’ve made some life long friends, I hope some day they’ll come visit us in the great Northwest, not only would I like to meet them but I’m sure Jamey would as well! Enjoy your last few days of there, I look forward to reading about them! 💓💓

I realy enjoy reading about your trip your a good writeer you should submit you your story to Readers Digest who nows you could write the great American novel and since your an Ashley you don’t have to hide your female…..keep them gessing……WHOPS your pictures will give you away I mentioned you at mass prayers and gave copy of trip to the pastoral center to a priest from Nichanarga leave you with some things I saw on a trip around anchorage “Alaska is full….I hear Yukon is nice ” “In the sun its summer…In the shade its WINTER”
