Last night, after the band/celebration, we quickly were reminded that it was the weekend, aka there were people screaming in the streets till 3 am. Basically we didn’t get much sleep at ALL.
But we had an easy hike ahead of us so it wasn’t the end of the world.

(Some clouds to kept us from sweating aka it was cold ha!)
When we got to town Michel, Dariush and I got a single room so we could get some rest. We all met up at the Cathedral, which was again, incredible. We toured the ancient Cathedral where the story about the “hanged innocent” was housed. The story goes– After a little boy was hanged for theft (even though he was innocent) his father told the police to cut him down because his son was still alive, the police said “he is as dead as the chicken in my plate!” Right after saying that the chicken came alive right before their eyes! And they cut down the boy who was alive as well. So now there are 2 chickens housed in this Cathedral! Such random history in Spain.

(Malcom ( the guy hiking with the guitar) being a goof!)
Anyways, after the tour we went and got food. I still couldn’t handle the idea of a drink at this point. After dinner we headed to bed. Dariush really wanted to watch a movie, so we fell asleep to World War Z, haha! I usually fall asleep to TV while I’m home so it was a nice treat. Made me feel at home even if it was a scary zombie movie.
All in all it was a smooth day. I was still anxious to get to Burgos to get my debit card though. I have been having a hard time missing friends and my family throughout this journey. The great company keeps that at a reasonable level but I knew at some point I would need to face the reality of being so far from home. But the calm day kept my anxiety at bay.

(Our whittle room, with our whittle sink 👌🏼 (that’s Dariush!))
